Many large companies and institutions understand the advantages of using video to record focus groups, providing accurate observations and documentation of the qualitative research that is conducted. Intelligent Video Solutions already provides a large number of companies with a robust video solution for focus group testing — our flagship Valt video solution. However, we have now made Valt fully portable with our new Beam mobile recording app.

Focus Group Mobile Video Recorder

Most companies conduct focus group testing in a designated area, already provisioned with video equipment. This has been a limiting factor for many companies, who often wish to record research sessions in the field. Therefore, IVS has made it even easier to record focus group sessions with our mobile, state-of-the-art Beam application.

The Beam app makes it extremely easy for companies to conduct market research and record focus groups. The portability and simplicity allow you to carry a mobile, secure high-definition recording studio at all times, ready at a moment’s notice.

How does the Beam Mobile Recording App Work?

Beam is an easy-to-install iOS application that can be used on any iOS device, such as an iPhone or iPad. This removes the need for companies to conduct focus group research in a pre-equipped room — indeed, Beam lets you record and document focus groups anytime and anywhere.

Using iOS video capture, Beam can run in offline mode. When you return, all video assets are automatically uploaded and synced with the Valt server. There is no need to fuss about with video formatting or rendering — Beam automates all of these functions. Beam also tags each video session with metadata, making it easy to locate and categorize individual video sessions.

Beam also features streaming video capture software, sending video over an encrypted channel. This allows remote users to watch focus group sessions in real-time, using nothing but a simple Valt-enabled internet browser. All video content stored on the Valt central server is encrypted, and rigorous user authentication protocols ensure access for only authorized persons.

Assembling a library of focus group videos is a powerful asset for a company. Videos can be accessed at any time, often supplementing current research with past results. Videos often pick up important details that human observers can miss. Additionally, later analysis of recorded sessions can identify errors in procedure or methodology that require improvement, thereby making future research sessions even more effective.

Beam is simple to install and easy to operate, features some of the best video capture software on the market, and requires little user training to operate. Intelligent Video Solutions will even produce custom kits for your company, containing extra features able to solve any video recording challenge you may have, as well as strengthen the overall video recording experience.

Beam makes it easy to record focus groups in remote locations. Beam is available for iPad, iPad-Mini, and iPhone via the App Store, or you can learn more by contacting
