Our software integrates with the latest IP camera technology. Observe in real-time or review recorded high definition video in 1080p resolution. Auto-gaining discrete microphones provide high-quality perfectly synchronized audio, great for picking up soft voices.
All of the videos are stored and managed by a built in searchable database. Tag videos with data like inmate name or case number for easy lookup and review.

The Valt software can integrate with access ID cards for the start and stop of recording. This allows for rapid fire recording while still segmenting the video properly so only authorized users can see the proper videos.
Video surveillance systems are necessary to provide effective security in correctional facilities, such as jails and prisons. Rapid advancements in digital video technology enable such facilities to inexpensively upgrade their older video systems to provide a higher level of safety for correctional workers and a more comprehensive monitoring of inmates and the grounds. With the advancements in video the use case has also grown.
The Valt correctional facility video capture tool from IVS is a solution for jails and prisons looking to expand their use of digital video surveillance. The Valt system is extremely scalable, able to support any number of cameras and microphones that feed their data to a central and secure server. Correctional facilities both large and small can employ Valt video to record a number of applications including arraignments, interviews and counseling/therapy sessions. The Valt software allows users to associate searchable data with each recording as well as embed markers within the videos.
Valt uses small, state-of-the-art IP cameras and auto-gaining microphones that eliminate background noise and hum — perfect for loud environments with many people. Our line of IP cameras offer both fixed and moveable pan-tilt-zoom (PTZ) cameras that can be installed anywhere on the grounds. All video and audio are fed to a central server, which contains storage space for tens of thousands of hours of video.
Valt stores all video on a central server — eliminating the need for dedicated equipment scattered throughout the facility. Video segments can be annotated with notes and are tagged with metadata, facilitating the future lookup of a specific recording. Authorized users can view video segments with any standard internet browser with no special viewing equipment is required.
All video content is fully encrypted and is rendered in standard MP4 formatting and uses h.264 compression, allowing recordings to be immediately available for viewing on the network, with no lag time due to video processing. Prison administrators have full control over user rights management and user authentications, ensuring only allowed persons can access the video library.
Valt video can also be set up off-site, in case the correctional institution needs to provide temporary video surveillance outside of the grounds. The Beam mobile capture application turns any smartphone or tablet into a recording device. The operator simply sets up the IP camera and microphone pairings at the desired location. Video is automatically uploaded to the main server when the operator returns to the facility.
