Background: A regulated utility company, operating across eight states, required a consistent and efficient method to conduct rigorous training and re-certifications for gas technicians.

Implementation: The company deployed an advanced A/V capture system in their newly established training facility. Intelligent Video Solutions’ VALT system was the key tool used in the creation of six training pods used to test, train, and recertify gas technicians. The training pods included cameras and microphones, enabling detailed recording and evaluation of technical procedures.

Outcome: The introduction of the A/V capture system transformed the training process, offering high-quality audio/visual recording, tagging features for critical evaluations, and two-way communication.

Additionally, the system included cameras in the outdoor training yard where the use of heavy equipment was required. This stationary training environment allowed for the evaluation of real-time application and skill. IVS and the VALT system made it possible to create consistent training environments, which led to better retention of procedural standards, and an overall enhancement in training quality.
