HD Video & High Quality Audio

Our software integrates with the latest IP camera technology. Observe in real-time or review recorded high definition video in 1080p resolution. Auto-gaining discrete microphones provide high-quality perfectly synchronized audio, great for picking up soft voices.

Beam Mobile Capture

Use the Beam application to turn any iOS device into a mobile capture platform that integrates seamlessly with the back end Valt application.

Scheduler

A built-in scheduler allows users to schedule recordings in advance or set up repeating schedules so the system automatically records the role play session(s) on the desired days and times.

Push Button Recording

Start and stop recording with the push of a button. The system also integrates with independent indicators or in-button LEDs providing a visual indicator as to when a recording is active.

Role play is a learning structure that allows students to think beyond the confines of the classroom. Incorporating role play in the classroom provides students with an active learning experience, adds variety, a change of pace, and engages students with each other. Many classrooms have begun using digital video to record role play sessions, giving both students and instructors the opportunity to review role play sessions in detail, augmenting the learning process.

The VALT (Video Audio Learning Tool) system is a powerful and inexpensive tool for video recording role play. VALT uses state of the art equipment yet is simple to operate, takes up little space, and is much more affordable than most digital recording systems. The VALT system scales up very easily — anything from single classroom use or large, campus-wide installations are easy to effect with VALT.

VALT Video Equipment for Recording Role Play Sessions

Observation room video recording with VALT is a snap — all video is piped to a central server that eliminates the need for bulky video equipment in each classroom. High-quality IP cameras and auto-gaining microphones produce video of unmatched quality. Several cameras can be placed in each classroom, to provide multiple viewing angles of recorded role play sessions. Our broad range of IP cameras includes both movable PTZ cameras and fixed units.

A typical VALT server installation can store around 16,000 hours of high-definition video though larger storage space is also available if needed. No special equipment is required for viewing recorded classroom sessions — any authorized user can view content using a common Internet browser.

VALT Software for Recording Role Play in the Classroom

Active learning video recording sessions are all stamped with metadata, making it easy to categorize and search for specific video sessions. Instructors can also annotate any video clip with notes and other data, especially useful if the department is building a video library of recorded role play sessions for future use or use as a training aid.

VALT has an optional “talkback” feature that lets a remote observer communicate in real-time with an instructor in the classroom, without interrupting the role play session. VALT video equipment is also extremely portable, allowing educators to quickly set it up outside of the classroom. Using the Beam mobile capture app, teachers can record role play sessions off-campus using just a smartphone or tablet. The Beam app then syncs the video with the main server when the user returns to the school.

Early childhood educational programs can opt for a turnkey solution from IVS, which can be implemented by internal IT departments, technology groups, or by a third-party AV/IT integrator. IVS works closely with each department to ensure a fully successful VALT video installation. Contact IVS to schedule a product demonstration or to request a quote.
