Video Recording for Disaster Preparedness Training

There is nothing more important than being prepared when faced with a disaster situation. Being properly trained to handle these events is vital to minimizing the impact. VALT can record each scenario with digital video cameras and also capture any monitor or computer screen. It will keep the playback in sync for training after the event.

Whether you are in the nuclear industry, power grid, campus security of any kind, natural disasters or part of any any other event in which a training program would benefit being properly trained on what not to do is a vital part of being prepared.

VALT is a recording platform for disaster preparedness training centers to record simulations but can also be leveraged and used for other departments as well, providing a shared infrastructure and support cost model. Our system supports dozens of cameras at the same time, letting you simultaneously record several different sessions. Video can be started and stopped from within the room itself, or by a remote observer who is viewing the training in real-time.

Cameras are easily adjusted to record from any viewing angle and can be both fixed or movable pan-tilt-zoom (PTZ) cameras. And, multiple cameras can also be set up in the same room to capture the disaster preparedness training session from different viewing angles.

Installation is a snap — VALT uses a central server and leverages existing network infrastructure to store all video recordings so all you need to do is set up our IP cameras and high-quality auto-gaining microphones in each room in which you want to conduct your disaster preparedness training sessions.

A standard internet browser is all that is needed to review recorded sessions. A typical VALT installation holds storage space for thousands of hours of video. Each session is tagged with metadata, making it easy to look up individual video sessions, and tagging makes it easy to build an expansive video library of recordings of counseling and wellness simulations, readily available for future training purposes.

VALT Software for Disaster Preparedness Training

Our video solution for disaster preparedness training purposes is rendered in standard .MP4 format and uses h.264 compression, minimizing demands on the network. Video is immediately available on the network with no delay.

The VALT video software supports a feature known as “talkback”, which lets remote observers speak to the trainees in real-time. “Talkback” is particularly useful when instructors want to convey information to your disaster preparedness trainees without physically interrupting the session.

Remote Recording of Disaster Preparedness Training

Want to conduct some disaster preparedness training remotely and add the video to the VALT library? No problem — our new Beam mobile capture app turns your smartphone or tablet into a mobile recording platform, letting you record disaster preparedness training sessions away from your training center. You do not even have to worry about uploading or formatting the video — video recorded with Beam is encrypted and automatically syncs with the VALT server, instantly adding your remote recordings to the digital video library.

IVS can provide a complete turnkey solution that can be implemented by any IT department or by a third-party integrator. IVS works closely with every customer to ensure a successful installation of the VALT digital video system. Contact us at IVS to schedule a product demonstration or to request a quote.
